Type II masks are primarily intended for use by healthcare professionals in an operating room or other medical setting where the same conditions are required.
The two types (I & II) differ according to their bacterial filtration efficiency. Type II is subdivided according to whether the mask is splash resistant (R: splash resistant).
The bacterial filtration efficiency type II (BFE) is ≥ 98.
